The Paleo Diet is based on one simple rule: If the caveman ate it, then so can you. Now that does not leave much to choose from, so it does require some creativity. There’s meat, beans (almost all), nuts, berries, fruits and vegetables to choose from. This means no grains, dairy, and of course nothing processed. Good news for chocoholics, dark chocolate is allowed, in moderation of course. However, not much else is. So, go ahead and make that salad, but use none of those dressings you can buy at the store; olive oil and vinegar only.
Here is a delicious, paleo-friendly chili I made last night: I browned some ground turkey meat with onion and then tossed it in with a can of garbanzo beans, black beans and diced tomatoes. Add in a few spices, and maybe a little hot sauce, and you’ve got a meal!
